Employers face muddy swamp despite new employment legislation

Changes designed to stimulate employment look unlikely to make things easier for business in the short term, with a continuing muddy swamp of employment legislation.

The minimum wage is set to increase in October 2012. For workers aged 21 years and over it will rise from £6.08 to £6.19 per hour.
The rate for those aged 18 to 20 will not increase, remaining at £4.98 per hour. Neither will the rate for those aged 16 up to 18 which remains at £3.68.
