Ecclesiastical Property

The Ecclesiastical Property team work alongside the Diocesan Registry and is responsible for dealing with all matters relating to church property.

We act for Incumbents, Parochial Church Councils, Church Commissioners and the Chester Diocesan Board of Finance and often our work involves representing charities.  We work closely with the Charity Commission and deal with a wide range of property matters including:

  • Redevelopment of Church property
  • Sales and purchases
  • Leases
  • First registrations
  • Churchyards and Burial grounds
  • Disposal of redundant churches
  • Glebe land
  • Church Halls
